I'm not recognizing a whole lot of names this year yet, so I think I might stuff by fandom this year. If you have a stocking up, please drop the link in the comments. I'm a sucker for stuffing.

As for me, I'm here: Ravenela's Stocking
ravenela: (Ichabod - Naushika)
* [community profile] fandom_stocking is back! You know what I love about this community? It's not about how many things you get in your stocking; it's about how many different stockings you can stuff. My favorite part is writing and making things for people and hoping they like it. And, yes, I like seeing things in my stocking (I even get excited about the generic holiday wishes), but I really love dropping things into other people's stockings.

* I'd love to do that December meme floating around. I have the worst time thinking of things to write about. Maybe I'll do a modified versions since I know I won't be able to post every day. What do you think?

* My tree is up, but no decorations yet. That's on my to-do list tomorrow. Surprisingly, Sam and Sparta haven't bothered with it this year. I'm impressed.

* I've got to make out my gift list and start buying stuff for people. Yay!

What's making you happy this week?

Yesterday's post was kind of a downer so today, I'm posting about what's making me happy.

*Duke Crocker. I continue to squee over this character, and I can't seem to stop. I've got pics all over my Pinterest. I keep reblogging anything that has to do with him on Tumblr. Tonight, Hubby is queuing up season four of Haven so we will be all caught up. Feel free to squee with me in the comments. (Please, please squee with me. Everybody else looks at me like I've grown a second head.)

*My current original fic, MAYBERRY WITH MONSTERS. It's about a sixteen-year old witch who has to protect her family and her town from scary, tall, evil, beautiful trolls. It's YA, and I'm having a lot of fun writing it.

*Sleepy Hollow. It has a time-traveling snarky Ichabod Crane. An awesome cop named Abbie Mills. And a headless horseman with a machine gun. What is there not to like? (I really need to search out some fic when I get a chance.)

*Christmas is coming! Christmas is coming! I'm trying to keep my spirit under wraps until Thanksgiving is over. But Christmas is coming!

What's making you happy today?

[community profile] fandom_stocking is now open. I got some wonderful gifts this year, and I hope everyone else did, too. Now, go and comment on all the awesome fic and fanart. Why are you still here? Go! :)

No, I haven't seen Les Mis yet. Hubby is taking me on Saturday, and I'm so excited. Have you seen it yet? What did you think? Go, Team Eponine! ;)

I did, however, see the Doctor Who Christmas special. No spoilers here so I'm just going to say I loved it. Moffatt has me intrigued with this new season. Very, very intrigued.

Speaking of the holidays, we had a good Christmas. Good time spent with family. And now we're looking forward to our quiet New Year's Eve. Yay!

Less than half an hour to go at work. Anything exciting happening in your neck of the woods?

I'm feeling very accomplished today. I've started my Christmas shopping, and I have an idea of how to write my way out of a hole in my WIP. *Beams*

My WIP has been giving me fits for the past few days. My FMC hasn't discovered my MMC's secret yet so this makes for an awkward first date. She suspects, but thinks she's nuts. Who would really believe this guy is a merman, am I right? ;) But I think I know where to go with this.

In the meantime, let's talk Arrow: )

So, yes, I love this show and am sad tonight is the midseason finale. Argh!

What do you think?

Happy December! My favorite time of year is here!

I love the whole Christmas season. The music, the decorations, the buying stuff for other people. I can't get enough of it. Everyone in my life kind of rolls their eyes and shakes their heads at me, but it doesn't matter. I always have the Christmas spirit.

Unfortunately, this year, I can't get my tree up until Tuesday. Thanksgiving weekend, I was sick. Last weekend, when Hubby pulled out the tree, he discovered we lost our stand in the move. *Hangs head* So we have to buy a new stand, and we can't get that until tomorrow (since I work tonight).

That's okay. It will get put up soon.

In other news, I've got to make a new batch of icons soon. Looking over my current collection, they're all pretty old. I need some Arrow, some Star Trek, some Grimm, some OUAT, some TVD, and some for my new original WIP. If anyone wants to make some for me, that would be awesome. Otherwise, I'll see what I can do on my day off.

Okay, speaking of the WIP, time to get back to it. Mermaids aren't going to write themselves.
