I was going to do Tristan and Isolde for this one, but then I found Red Riding Hood. No, no, this is not the one you're thinking of with Amanda Seyfried that was actually pretty good. No, this one is a kids movie that came out in, according to IMDB, 2006 (I'm tempted to say it was made earlier based on how young Henry looks). If you want to do like I did, you can watch all the Henry parts here.

Anyway, let's get down to it.

Plot: Red has to deliver a package to her grandmother. Before she can, she has to defeat the Big, Bad Wolf. Along the way, she meets the handsome fellow above and drools a bit (like any girl would).

Swoonworthy Scale: 7 - It's not possible for this man to get too low around here. Anyway, I'm knocking points off for the overall cheesiness.

Overall Impressions: Oh, the cheese! The cheeeeeese! Yes, it's a kids movie so the cheesiness is over the top. But what broke me was the love song Red sings to him. I can't even! It's so awesome and hilarious all at the same time. It is fun to see him do something with some humor, though. Especially where you get to see his smile. (Even if I feel really inappropriate watching this.)

Repeat Watchability: No. Just, no.

Happy Monday! Hope yours was filled with rainbows and puppies. Mine was filled with writing and library patrons and Henry Cavill. Yay!

I have a Squeeworthy Books post, a Summer Fling post, and a Write Motivation post to put up. But this is not those posts. (The Summer Fling one is going to be fun. I found Red Riding Hood - a kids movie, not the teen one. Oh, Henry, what were you thinking?)

No, this one is a regular ole update post.

*I have the urge to write fic for Man of Steel. I'm probably going to break down and do it just because I can't resist. (Plus, I need to do something with my time while I wait for it to come out on DVD. Seriously, why is it not in my hot little hands yet?)

*After I finish Among Others by Jo Walton, I'm taking a mini-break from sci-fi/fantasy. I have some romance by Jayne Ann Krentz and Karen White and some historical fiction by Lauren Willig and Philippa Gregory lined up. I need a change of reading pace for a while. If you have a historical fiction or romance (contemporary or suspense, but not erotica - it makes me blush) suggestion, please give it to me.

*I will finish WHITE SPIRIT by August 17. Mark my words! Tristan and McKenna are behaving, and I'm pleased. Sexy psychics, for the win!

*The Bearded One is planning to take me to the beach for my birthday at the end of this month. So looking forward to it. It'll us, the waves, and a book. Perfect!

So, what's new with you? :)

So, if you're anything like me, once an actor catches your eye, you start searching for all of his movies. I went on huge binges when I was obsessing over Ewan McGregor and Gerard Butler. I even sat through some not-so-great movies.

Well, here we are again. Only this time it's Henry Cavill. He's been in quite a few things since 2003, many of them kind of minor. Not sure I can go back that far since he was so young. (I'm six years older than he is so it's kind of hard to fangirl the movies where he's 20). But, we'll see.

I'm not going to recap anything. Basically, I'll give a plot overview, share some pics, share my impressions, and measure Henry's character on the Swoonworthy Scale of 1-10 (10 being "melted panties mode"). Please feel free to watch along and share your own opinions. It's no fun if I'm doing this by myself.

Today's Summer Fling post is The Cold Light of Day (2012):

Plot: Will Shaw is reluctantly on a vacation with his family when they all get kidnapped. He races against time to save them and uncover his dad's secrets.

Swoonworthy Scale: 9 - He's got curls! Lots of curls! And he's very much a woobie who gets beaten up...a lot. Show of hands, who wants to dress his wounds?

Overall Impressions: If you're watching for Henry's hotness, then you've come to the right place. However, the movie itself isn't all that great. The action keeps it moving, and Bruce Willis plays the type of character he's most known for - gruff ass kicker. Don't go into this expecting Bruce Willis to save the day, though. Also, Sigourney Weaver took the only really awesome female part. But, she's Sigourney Weaver. You expect that of her.

Repeat Watchability: Do the Henry cut version. That means you skip to every scene he's in.

Happy afternoon! It's another Monday, and another month. If you live in the US, what are your plans for the fourth?

* After totaling our car two weekends ago (don't worry, everyone is fine), we bought a new car yesterday. It's a blue Honda Civic Coupe, and I adore it. Absolutely adore it.

You see, the weekend before last, Hubby and I visited his mother in SC. While driving to dinner, a driver hit our car and ripped off the back end. Everyone was fine, but the other driver kept on going. Needless to say, we were able to get a new car.

* Writing is going well. We've started a new month of Write Motivation, and here are my goals:

1) Get halfway through the edits on WHITE SPIRIT.

I've put chapters one and two to bed and have moved on to chapter three. So far, I'm very pleased. Let's hope this trend will continue.

2) Work on it every day.

Last week was hit or miss, but I had more hits than misses. This week hasn't started off very well (I have to be at work in a little while), but I'll pick up the slack tomorrow.

* Yeah, Henry Cavill is still hot. I have a few upcoming posts about that.

So, what's new with you?
