Lots of changes and new adventures in the air!

* The Bearded One and I will be seeing Star Trek Into Darkness tomorrow. Don't tell me anything. Not one spoiler.

* I start my new job on Sunday. Still a library assistant, but this time I'll be permanent and working at a regional branch. Next stop...librarian. I can feel it.

* Been reading YA lately. Finished Let the Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger and am now plowing through The Art of Wishing by Lindsay Ribar. One is about sylphs and the other is about a genie. I'm in my happy place right now.

* The Vampire Diaries and Beauty and the Beast last night. They can be summed up best as....you can't leave me hanging like that! Do you know how long summer is? Gah!

* Saw Iron Man 3 last weekend. Dude! Duuuuuuuuude! Incredible! Absolutely incredible!

So, what season finales and movies have made you squee? What adventures are you having this weekend?

As I clear the dust from my blog, I realize it has been a while. What all have I missed?

TV-Wise: Been watching all my shows.

Once - I so called spoilers ).

Vampire Diaries - Spoilers )

I need to catch up on Arrow.

The Voice is coming back, which makes me a very, very happy girl. Love The Voice. I think it's my favorite talent show of them all.

I still love Smash, but I don't think anybody else does.

Oh, and Doctor Who starts back up at the end of the month.

What TV things are making you happy?

Writing-Wise: Quick, look over there! *Runs away* Okay, so I've been making notes on WHITE SPIRIT. All of my beta readers have sent their comments so I need to incorporate all of their notes in with mine. And then the real work begins. So much revising, but I'm going to make this story work.

Job-Wise: Haven't found a full-time permanent position yet, but I've put in some promising applications.

How is it going in your neck of the woods?

The Vampire Diaries has done it again. I found a new song that I absolutely love - "Fear and Loathing" by Marina and the Diamonds. I can't get enough of it.

Anyway, I have big news for you. I finally finished the second draft of White Spirit! Yay!!! So, while its with beta readers, it's time I started a new story.

Rebecca Enzor tagged me to answer these questions about my WIP. Since my New Shiny is now my current WIP, here's your introduction to it.

What is the working title of your book?
Of the Sea

Where did the idea come from for the book?
All the mermaid books I keep reading, my weird fascination with surfing, Chris Hemsworth in Thor, and my six years in Charleston.

What genre does your book fall under?
Adult urban fantasy

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I always choose faces for my characters. For Brian, my main male character, I chose Chris Hemsworth, and for Addison, my main female character, I chose Deborah Ann Woll.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
A merman runs from his past and hides on land, but the fight he left behind is about to explode on land.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I want to try the agent route first.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I haven't started it yet, but lately, I'm writing first drafts in three months.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I'm not sure yet.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?
See the idea answer above.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Merpeople in Charleston. There's romance, action, and intrigue. How much fun is that?

As for tagging, I'd love to see everyone answer these questions. I love reading about what people are working on.

As I sit here, the last chapter of White Spirit is staring at me. Unfortunately, with all the changes I've made, it's going to have to be rewritten from scratch. *Sigh* The task feels daunting, but I think I can handle it. I'm at the point where I'm just ready for this to be finished. My new shiny keeps beckoning from its notebook.

I also think I may have a job. I was asked to interview for a temporary part-time library assistant position. The temp part seems to mean I might move from branch to branch throughout the system so there's not an official ending date. But this is a foot in the door and might lead to that elusive librarian position I've been dreaming of.

In the world of TV, all my shows continue to rock my socks. I haven't seen this week's Revolution yet (I'm still mad at them for last week), but I'm caught up on everything else.
